Educational Objectives

Upon completion of this program, participants should be better able to:

  • Facilitate and encourage active discussion of minimally invasive spine indications, techniques, outcomes, and emerging MISS technology
  • Describe advances, emerging new concepts, and the latest research related to minimally invasive spine surgery
  • Teach technical pearls and potential pitfalls of MISS procedures to facilitate safe application of MISS technology
  • Define areas of controversy in MISS and provide best evidence for each approach
  • Review the options and complications of challenging cases in MISS
  • Discuss and debate specific case studies with SMISS members
  • Explore future trends in clinical practice and technology as it relates to patient care
